Where to Stay

Let’s be honest, this place is so beautiful I would literally sleep on the beach in a chair, just give me a nice down pillow, k? But really, It’s SO gorgeous I’m sure wherever you stay will be amazing but the two places I stayed were so beyond amazing, I cannot recommend them enough. I booked this trip 4.5 weeks before I left both times i came here so the prices were most likely higher than they would have been if I planned in advance but that’s just what I do best.I went to Positano tboth the first and last week in September. The weather was gorgeous still and it was def less crowded than the summer and temperature was PERFECT.

When I am looking for somewhere to stay when I travel, I do SO much research. I ask people for recommendations, look at the location in relation to things I want to do, STALK the sh*t out of it on Instagram (best tip I give to people-you’ll thank me later), and then really narrow it down. Both of these hotels were recommended by multiple people who said they would stay there again (says a LOT).

Before I get into it I just want to touch on pricing. Amalfi Coast lodging is pretty pricey but it is 200% worth.it. Of course, you should only do what you are comfortable with but, this is the place that you should splurge. I think this is why so many people pick this as a honeymoon destination. I personally did not stay in any Air B nB’s but know people who have and LOVED them so if this is out of your comfort zone, look at Air B n B. If you are reading this because you are booking your honeymoon, don’t forget to tell the concierge before you arrive, they usually provide something special if you are there for a special occasion or they may upgrade you for no cost.

Hotel 1: Covo dei Saracenti

  • I’ve stayed here the past 2 years and I’ve even sent friends here
  • It’s located right on the main beach, Spiaggia Grande. You can EASILY walk to town and most restaurants.
  • The rooms were clean, spacious, AIR CONDITIONED (life saver and hard to find in Europe), and had an AMAZING view.
  • Breakfast was included every morning for 2 people and they had both dairy free and gluten free items. PLUS an omelet bar if you asked the waiter.
  • The rooftop pool overlooks the main beach in Positano, it’s amazing. Order a spritz from the amazing bartender and enjoy the view!

The low down: The concierge was AMAZING like beyond amazing. I knew I wanted to stay here and on every booking site it said they had no availability. I emailed them directly and within a week they found me a room for all 3 nights. They made reservations, gave honest and great recommendations for places to eat or things to do. They were so amazing, and I would stay here again for sure.

Cons: The ONLY con was that since it was in the middle of everything, it was loud in the morning when they were taking the recycling out. Ask for a higher-level room and bring ear plugs or a white noise machine. It wasn’t really that bad of an issue- I’d still go back AND recommend it.

Hotel 2: Hotel Villa Franca

  • It’s located up the hill from town so it’s a TREK or you can take the complimentary shuttle to town.
  • The rooms were an actual dream. They upgraded me for free to a sea view and I died a little. It’s seemingly brand new and the sheets and robes smell like actual heaven like I tried stuffing them into my suitcase so I could preserve the smell it was so good (HFV staff if you’re reading, I didn’t- settled for the perfume in the lobby).
  • I had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and they were all amaaaaaaazing!!
  • he spa is sooo chic and calming. I did the ultimate spa experience. I didn’t get any treatments but spent an hour or so in the hot soaking tub where I was brought snacks and spa water, I mean what else could you want? GO HERE.
  • OK, the roof here is somewhere I could live the rest of my life. When you sit around the pool, you have panoramic views of Positano and the sunsets are UNREAL. I hiiiiighly suggest coming up here before your dinner reservation for a drink and sunset watching! Oh, and did I mention there is a rain sower that overlooks the ocean? Out.Of.Control.

The low down: I can’t rave about this place enough. The staff was INCREDIBLE. The bartenders on the roof quickly became my favorite people **keep the spritz’ flowing till I say when****. As stated above, their linens smell like heaven. I think they heard me talk about it so much they gave me a complimentary bottle of their signature scent. LOL

Cons: It is further away from town and the shuttles aren’t frequent. The only other slight con is that is pretty pricey, but 100000% worth it. If it’s your honeymoon, PLEASE do yourself a favor and stay here! Register for your honey fund here whatever you need to do to get here and stay here.

If you’re reading this, I assume you’re planning a trip and I’m SO jealous. Let me know know you like it!

Sealed with a Spritz

Xx – Kristine
